PHILADELPHIA – The Penn Champions Club announced today the launch of the fifth annual Penn Athletics Women’s Giving Challenge, beginning on February 1 and continuing through February 28 with the purpose of empowering the current and future women leaders of Penn Athletics.
During the month-long fundraising challenge, the first $100,000 in new and increased dollars raised by Penn Athletic alumni, family members and friends to any varsity athletic program with a women’s team will be matched dollar-for-dollar, giving donors an opportunity to double their impact for women’s athletics.
In addition to this matching-gift opportunity, $14,000 in bonus funds will be awarded to the top three teams in two bonus categories: the highest alumnae participation, and highest new and increased alumnae donor participation. Bonus funds will be directed to the appointed team’s varsity annual fund. First place in each category will receive $4,000; second place in each category will receive $2,000; and third place in each category will receive $1,000.
